I use to live in Frisco and really disliked the city until they built an awesome mall, a stadium, and a new library. I was curious is frisco considered conservative? Because I've always thought it was but that was just an assumption I've never been to a town hall meeting or busied myself with the politics in Frisco. What are your thoughts on Frisco's politics? Any info about gays in Frisco?

I believe it is fairly conservative. Didn't they just pass a new law/ordinance that alcohol can be served until 2 AM?

How do you determine if a massively developing city like Frisco is conservative? Maybe city hall is but because there are so many (mostly middle class) people who moved to Frisco from all over the USA, I'd guess Frisco is a reflection of (middle class) USA.

Last year an art teacher in Frisco got fired for taking a 5th grade class on a field trip the the DMA where someone saw a nude (but non-sexual) sculpture.
Apparently a parent complained. I suppose there are uptight parents everywhere, but for the school board to follow through on such a complaint by firing the teacher.... So the school board seems to be fairly conservative, at least. I couldn't speak for other areas of the city government or the people that live there.

Ok so the school board and city goverment are conservative. They are elected by conservative people so I conclude that Frisco is conservative. (I am sure there are a million holes in my thought process)

North Dallas is generally politically and socially conservative. I'm certain that there are gay people living in Frisco, but they aren't nearly as open about it as people in places like Chicago, NYC, LA, or even Oak Lawn, etc.

Most of the people in Frisco value traditional family life, which I think is a good thing, but unfortunately some of them still see gays as a threat to that life. I've seen attitudes change quite a bit over the last decade, though.

Frisco is big enough now that you could live your life and not be bothered, the big exception being if you have a child enrolled in public school. Would you meet a lot of diverse people? If you're good at meeting people, then I'm pretty sure you would.

When will this die! The teacher wasn't fired for taking the children to see a nude sculpture. She was fired for having several previous write ups, not having permission slips signed before the trip and not taking the children on the approved tour. Or did you miss that part of the story?

Apparently I did. As I don't live in Frisco, and don't have a child in Frisco schools, I didn't have cause to research the story beyond Googling "Frisco art teacher" and glancing over the articles I read there, which don't mention those other points.
