We are currently spending the week in Plano and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find apartment guides, and real estate magazines.

unless they are online they won't be current. you can look at realtor.com, craigslist, padmapper.com or contact an apartment locator

I see them at Kroger all the time. They are usually by the entrance. Since they have usually two entrances check both entrances.

You can find them in the stores at Kroger, Tom Thumb etc. The apartments will be usefull but the residential homes ones will be outdated. Real Estate companies that do print advertising are fishing for buyers, not really advertising the homes themselves. You will notice that many don't have an actual address or MLS number. Many agents use pictures of sold homes to attract buyers on there, highly deceiving.
