I'm sorry to hear there are people who are apparently trapped in the debris. I pray all are all okay. Although I've never lived in Lancaster, I grew up in that general area of Dallas county, going to high school in Duncanville. Most of my family is now in the Red Oak area and I have in-laws whose family all live in Lancaster. I watched much of the news coverage live on TV and the entire thing made me sick. All of you there are in my thoughts and prayers.

Here is a video, watch it at full screen size, in some of the darker segments what I originally thought was a roof membrane flying thru the air looked more like a tractor trailer rig flying thorugh the air 50-100' above the ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSCD...ayer_embedded#!

Aside from having relatives who live there I lived in Lancaster for 21 years so I am certainly attached to the area. They have a large mobilization at the recreation center and library and The Red Cross is doing what it does best. So many people who have lined up down the streets hoping to get to their homes.

My husband said for perspective that an empty trailer, which some of those were, weigh 15,000-20,000 lbs.

So my wife is driving through hail, wind, the whole enchilada trying to get to the school. She passes some idiot who decides its a good idea to pull over and take pictures of the tornado.
Then she loses cell reception. For 20 agonizing minutes I can't reach her. Finally get through. She made it to the kids and back to her moms place safely.

Then to top it off, I work at Beltline and the Tollway. The next tornado hits at Trinity Mills and the TOllway. We are all crowded in the stairwells. For 15 minutes. We hear the booms, people are terrified. Sirens are going off left and right. Eventually we get the green light to come back to work. I'm exhausted. Hope everyone here is safe. Take care.
How stupid is this school? I hope everyone is raising hell about this. Unreal.

Glad you are all ok.

Parts of Lancaster, including my old neighborhood, are a disaster.
Hope you are all okay. Glad you were fortunate in this.

My step-daughter teaches school in that area and left work just before a twister came "too close".

I work in wholesale parts for a dealership, and the fallout from vehicle damage is pretty crazy. I've been through hail storms before, but wow...
