We are really keen to move to Texas from the UK, but at the moment we dont have a clue which is the best way?
My husband is a panel beater for Mercedes Benz and has 25yrs experience.
We would like to rent until we are settled, and have 2 children aged 8 and 3. Please can someone let me know how we could get a visa, best area to choose and if there is any call for my husbands job?
We have wanted to move to the US for a long time but have no idea what we need to do? We have close friends in Texas, but we are clueless about visas, schooling and what goes with living there. I think we have been very sheltered in the UK!

Check the Legal Immigration forum. One way is to transfer with a job, with the company sponsoring you, but that is very difficult as only high-level employees with in-demand skills are needed.

You can apply for a visa but be prepared to wait and satisfy means tests including whether your husband's skillset is needed. Your first stop should be an immigration lawyer in the UK.

Good luck.

Give a call to your local US consular section of the American Embassy. They will tell you exactly what you need based on your nationality and other criteria. Start here on their website.

To work and live in the USA, you need to be qualified in a specific qualified field that a US Citizen is not able to field. I think these types of visa's are called "H Visa".

You're better off talking to an immigration lawyer, because United Kingdom is considered a 1st world country, and the chances that you'll get a work visa are limited unless you can fill a job here that no US citizen can.
