Hi, my brother is looking to move to rockwall and will be commuting to the Arapaho, Preston section in Dallas. What is the commute like now with toll opened? Is it better? Thanks!

Maybe 25-30 minutes? My brother commutes from 75 and George bush to rockwall and it takes him 15 minutes.

From the entrance to the PGBT to the DNT it takes 25 minutes then you have to add whatever time it takes him to get to the entrance of the turnpike depending where in Rockwall he will be living.

The Shores is a masterplanned community and is huge. Stonelake is another nice one with very large lots up to 1/2 acre, Lakeview Summit, Caruth Lakes.

Budget will make a difference in Rockwall. The closer to the water, the more $$!

From 75 to 30 on the PGBT isn't bad until you're merging with 30 and trying to get across the lake. During the middle of the day (no traffic at all) it takes 20 minutes from the Costco in Rockwall (I30 and 205 intersection) to the Firewheel shopping center. But, you'll definately be adding time getting across the lake on I30.

Thanks, appreciate your replies, my husband is moving the company to Dallas and we are trying to keep the fam happy. Sounds like its 20 minutes to get to the bridge in rockwall, is this right?

I am also looking at rockwall. 20 minutes just to to the tollway and then tack on extra time, is this correct?

If I30 is all jammed up getting across the lake you could just take Lakeview pkwy over to the tollway instead. Thats usually how I go over to the tollway if the traffic is bad on i30.
