Bloomingdale

"Many of the shoppers who showed up for opening day were diehard fans. Beth Lawrence drove 25 miles from her home in Frisco.

“I love Bloomingdale’s. I shop there in California a lot when I’m there on business,” said Lawrence, who was waiting in line to try on a half-dozen items. “I think the children’s department needs a little work.”

The Shops at Park Lane is across North Central Expressway from NorthPark Center and is also home to Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Whole Foods, Ulta and Charming Charlie"

Sprint, who is also a tenant there, is giving $25 off $50 coupons to Bloomingdale's. So if you have any business to do with Sprint go do it in person at that location and get your coupon.

I'm a huge Nordstrom fan, but NO retailer has the sales and home goods selection of Bloomingdales. If you guys ever get a full blown Bloomies down there your retail Kingdom would be complete!

I think we will get a full one....it would be smart to open it at the Galleria or a free standing one in the Gallaria area(New ValleyView Development).

hasn't Bloomingdales already been through DFW? If they build again, I imagine they will show up at North Park.

They were at Valley View in the mid to late 1980's. Disastrous move as Bloomie's owner passed on plum Galleria location and put Macy's there instead. They felt Bloomingdale's would "turn around" Valley View and underestimated how different the Galleria and VV customers are despite the fact they're across the street from one another.

Federated AGAIN made a bad move (for Bloomie's) in 2006 during the May-Federated merger by letting Macy's go into the NorthPark Foley's location, not Bloomingdale's. There really isn't another appropriate mall in DFW for Bloomingdale's, unless they put in a small SoHo/ Santa Monica scale store ib Uptown. Many higher end stores have bailed from Galleria since NP expanded and quite a few of the higher end (even like JCrew level) stores have left Stonebriar this year after the initial 10-year leases expired. WillowBend still struggles to find its footing and enough loyal customers to make the rent worth it.

We shall see.

Sounds like a match made in Heaven. Dallas is all about name tags, so buy some clothes there and be accepted in the community! The Dallas way!

Bloomies needs to buy the Albertsons on McKinney in West Village, tear it down and build a street side store with parking in the back.

Thank goodness I got to shop the Bloomingdale's in NYC and CA before they opened the Valley View store. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had a very good opinion of them. The Valley View Bloomingdale's was horrible. I don't know what their problem was, but I never found anything in there I wanted. I think I may have bought a dress or two for one of my girls, that was about it.
