I have been trying to find a good crime map, especially of the Garland area where it shows high crime vs low crime areas. Here best one I found so far:

From what I can tell it looks fairly accurate. What do you guys think? Also, got any other resources that gives good crime maps?

All of the area south of I30 is horrible?? Sure there's lots of apartment complexes, but I though the neighborhood around Lyons and Gutherie Rd had some nice well kept (albeit older 80s) homes. (I drive through there nearly every day and often at night.)

The internet - the greatest source of disinformation the planet has ever known.

That map is utterly useless.

Put some time in on the ground and meet some locals and the police. You'll get higher quality information than Google gifts you.

Use the City of Garland's Crime Statistics and Maps site for current, accurate up-to-date specific info. You can also use the City-Data's Garland site for overall crime stats for 1999-2010, though not quite as up-to-date or area-specific, but gives an overall trend for the city.

If you want to find the high crime areas look for large apartment complexes that cater to low income
