No advice as I don't know much about the chances of admission to that school...but just wanted to send you a hug and some good luck vibes, as we might be in a similar situation come March. Good luck to you and your kid!

Very tough, it is a pure lottery with the exception that siblings get all open spots before the lottery pulls.... Last I heard, the Uplift program has some open spots at another school in its system also in Irving called Infinity prep because it is a new school, so you could possibly enroll your child there while continuing to apply for the annual lottery. It won't impact your chances for North Hills.

I actually attended North Hills for over ten years and graduated from there. It is an excellent, academically challenging school. It has always been difficult to gain admission, but it is becoming increasingly more challenging to gain admission. The admissions process is based upon a lottery. If you have a sibling attending the school, your other child will receive priority in the lottery. I invite you to read the FAQs posted (http://www.uplifteducation.org/211320111917931503/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=61316 - broken link) to learn more about the admissions process.

Default Thnak you for your warm and generous advice. Wish you a lucky happy new year.

actually he is #5 on the waiting list. so I hope my kid to get chance if it will happen.
And more, I just noticed north hills especially accepted 40 more 6th grade students for 2012~2013.
How could it be possible?

I would say your child has an excellent chance of getting in. My daughter was pretty well further down the list and got in. Now, I was called two days before school started, but bost my girls got in.

Kinder must be a little different but you must realize that spots open up for quite a few reasons. Parents get transferred, divorced, move, etc and many times the parents/students decide North Hills is just not for them. If you want a run down on North Hills see my post in the other North Hills thread.
