My husband and I are coming up on our big 5 anniversary July 7th. We moved here last year from Houston and we love McCormick and Schmick's private booth tables, however the one here just closed. Do you guys have any other suggestions for establishments with private booth and good food?

Trulucks in Houston had private booths and might have them here. Also Palm restaurant in Houston had private booths if I recall both of these correctly. These places tend to be pricey and there are other options that can be great and less pricey. I like Ruggerio's no Preston which has booths, Salt Grass has booths as well. I am not sure what you mean by private booths and both of these may down market for your celebration. Brio's is another that comes to mind from Houston and its in Allen near 75 here, and might have booths as the one in City Centre of Houston had.

Happy Anni and good luck

Thanks Johnw2, when I say private booths, I mean there's a table, with all 4 sides enclosed (one side being a curtain)

The Melting Pot in Addison has some pretty intimate seating available, I don't think there are actually curtains though. It's a fondue place where the pace is definitely leisurely - last time I had dinner there it was over 2 hours I think (dining, not waiting).

This is a quote from their website:
Quote:
...Come prepared to “Dip into something different” at The Melting Pot of Addison. We are a romantic, fine dining, fondue restaurant that offers a dining experience unlike any you have previously enjoyed...
...Expect to enjoy a leisurely 1.5 to 3 hour gourmet fondue dining experience (time depends on party size) as your server prepares one of our delectable cheese fondues tableside. We follow with your choice of one of our fantastic salads with our unique homemade dressings...
...The Melting Pot of Addison boasts predominately private and comfortable booth seating, soft lighting, original artwork pieces, and a walk-in wine room...

I found this place called Arthur's in Addision they said they have private dining with a curtain for two. Has anyone tried them? The reviews seem pretty mixed.

Does anyone know why McCormick and Schmick's closed? It is a great restaurant and was always crowded. How can Houston have 3 or four of them, Austin has one, yet now there are none in Dallas. It just doesn't make sense. So disappointing...I loved that place.

Sorry to hear about this too, I liked going there. Perhaps they are not just closed, but possibly relocating?

Dallas doesn't really do "nice dining at the mall". It's unfortunate because a lot of out of town businesses just make bad real estate decisions when their restaurants could have been successful in another location. SushiSamba's failure at the Galleria comes to mind- had they picked Uptown or Henderson or even Shops @ Legacy, it probably would have made it. But not enough people want to dress up and go have a nice dinner at NorthPark, Galleria, etc. The places that have been successful - PF Chang's, La Madeline, etc - for the most part are casual and kid friendly.

Season's 52, which has an outpost in Plano, is moving in to the M&S spot at NorthPark.
