Hi Everyone,

I've tried searching the forum for the answer to my question but to no avail. I'm looking into either moving in the Grand Prairie area (south of I-20 near Joe Pool lake) or Cedar Hill (near Joe Pool Lake) in the next year or so and I wanted to know about traffic in the morning getting into the Irving area. The destination zip code is 75039. I wanted to know the best route to take from the two cities to avoid heavy traffic during normal work hours 9-5. I mapquest the directions from grand P to Irving and was given the route of I-20W and 360N so please share your comments on that route as well. I would not mind taking public transportation either... an express bus or the train (or anything other public transporation that I am not aware of). Let me know if there are any back routes or short cuts that I can take from these cities to get into Irving.

Thanks in advance

360 then 161 would be my recommendation, although both will snarl a bit going there and back.

Light rail wouldn't work coming from where you are and without knowing more specifics not sure about the bus either, but for a trip of that distance it's unlikely to pay off... You might get lucky, though, so it's worth checking the DART website for that.

I think 67 to 35E would be a relatively quick route. Depending on the time of day, 67 is not too-too bad. Cedar Hill to downtown via 67/35E is about 35 minutes during the peak of rush hour, then I would probably add another 10 minutes to Irving, maybe a bit less as I never take 35 that far on a work day.

If you're working in Irving, woudl you consider Flower Mound/Lewisville/Grapevine? Shorter commute but a bit less value than Grand Prairie/Cedar Hill.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do some research on the cities mentioned.
