I'm doing a little homework on where to find some tasty treats in DFW, but I can't find any italian pastry shops. I'm looking for a place in Dallas that offers similar things to Venieros but I haven't been able to find one through yelp or online searches.

Anyone know where I can find some good cannolis, sfogliatella, millefoglie and pignoli cookies? Any tips on where to shop for these would be much appreciated, I have an Italian pastry addiction that I enable whenever possible

They only place where you'll find some of these items is at Jimmy's at the corner of Fitzhugh and Bryan. Also try Carbone's on Oaklawn at Wycliff (which Fitzhugh turns into).

There is an Italian Deli in Flower Mound that may have some.

Whole Foods actually has good cannoli...better than Jimmy's

Thanks! I'll be sure to check them out. I'm not usually one with a sweet tooth but italian pastries are a weakness of mine.

I found their URL but the website is down But I'm reading the yelp reviews and balklava was mentioned, wow that stuff is sweet but damn good if made right. I'll check this place out too

I get the feeling I'm going to get a LOT of driving practice (just got licensed a few weeks ago) going around to all the recommended places for great food.

I have tasted balklava and it was great! Again, taste is a relative factor, so go try it out.....overall a small but great pastry place!

Rules to live by..If the Cannoli isn't filled right in front of you, don't eat it.

I can't imagine Dallas has anything even close to what you get in NY.

Seriously? If you want good, try Chicago. The DFW area has decent and passable, but not good Italian pastry. Sorry. I too have the same addiction, and other than making my own which is a pain in the *ss...I have to pacify myself w/ 1/2 decent pastries. Although, there is a new Chicago style pizza place open in the McKinney area (where the owner claims to have owned/operated his own Chicago pizzeria), that I'm going to try in the next few days...oh, how I look forward to traveling to Chicago sometimes!!!

Dallas doesn't have much in Italian pastries , neither in French or Swiss pastries , Main street bakery is ok and Rush bakery is good but far from the real stuff . Unfortunately , Dallas has succumbed to the trend of cupcakes!
