Hey guys I just signed a lease site-unseen only pictures and here-say. I have heard some really good stuff and of course some really bad stuff. Anyone familiar with the building and the area? It's on 1222 commerce st. I hear there is lots of entertainment, within walking distance? Is this true?

Thanks again, I'm just a good ole' D.C. boy moving to Dallas this weekend! I am really excited.

Manor House was the ONLY apartment building in downtown Dallas for decades. I think it dates to the early/mid 1960's. I've never been in it but Lakewooder's referral is probably a good one. West End would be within walking distance. Downtown Dallas is going through a renaissance with new condos and apartment conversions of many older (former) office buildings. There are many exciting things happening there.

I was very familiar with it in the mid-sixties as many girls in the local modeling school/agency were housed there. It was new and fairly exclusive.

My company kept an apartment there in the 80-90's so that staff forced into extended hours during bad weather had a place to go. It seemed to be a good downtown residence.

It has been almost ten years since I was in the building but I remember it as a well managed and maintained tower.
