My girlfriend and I are going to a WWE event at the American Airlines Center in a few days, and we were going to take the Green Line from the Carrollton station to the Victory Park station. Anyways, the event starts at 6:30 pm so we were planning on leaving around 5-ish, but the problem is that the event won't end until almost 11:00 pm, in which we would have to take the returning train from victory park to Carrollton. I was just wondering if it would be safe to return home at that hour on DART. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

No worries. You should feel completely safe taking DART. Your train will most likely be very packed after the event as it is very common for people to take DART to and from events at the AAC. I use DART to go to Mavs games all the time. It is safe.

That route should be fine.

I submit that not all routes will be that safe late at night.

There have been females being groped by random strangers, so be careful letting your love ones riding by themselves.

I ride DART late at night for "fun" when I cannot sleep. I keep hoping it will not be safe, but it has been so far.

If you are worried, then go with someone who is big and strong. I know a friend who will chat up people and then sit with them while taking DART late at night.

Is the dart fully automated or is it manned by a live human train crew?

DART trains have train operators. The Skylink trains at DFW International Airport are fully automated.

Unfortunately besides DART there are many places that are not all that safe. Riding to events are probably safer than most but the cameras are making a difference. I know in my neighborhood once cameras went up crime went way down.

Hope you have fun. I have to work that night and couldn't make it.

To answer your question, when there is a major event, there will be tons of police, both uniform and plain-clothed. Just use common sense and you should be fine
