I drove a new vehicle with temp plates without toll tag for a couple of weeks while I waited for license plates and toll tag. How would I be charged for the days I drove with temp plates?
Thanks

I bought a new Ford in Carrollton and drove it home using the Sam Rayburn. Asked the salesman about going through tolls with temporary plates. He said no problem, you'll get a zip cash bill in the mail based on them reading the temp tags. Well, it's been 6 months and I ain't seen nothing yet. Of course I'm probably on some data base with the death penalty on my head.

You didn't accumulate enough fees to get a bill, most likely. If you have a Tolltag account call them and have the temp. tag fees added to your account. Usually they will reduce the charges to Tolltag fees as well.
If not call them and pay the bill.

As it happened to me when I bought a new car, you will receive the Zip Cash Bill at the address indicated on the car title. If you do not have a Toll Tag account, you will have to enter the temporary license plate on the internet site, in order to pay it on-line. Easy :-).

When I bought my car in 2007 I didn't do anything; this was back when there were still toll booths that took cash. Well, every once in a while I didn't have the right change. Oops. Nothing ever happened.

I just spilled my drink.

I just looked up the NTTA website and this is what they say about temporary plates:

What if I have a temporary license plate or change the license plate on my vehicle?
For temporary (paper) plates, please update your online account by checking the “temporary plates” box and including the expiration date, or contact the Customer Service Center at 972-818-6882 (NTTA) with that information. Once permanent license plates are received, you must update your account online or contact the Customer Service Center with the permanent information.
To change a license plate you can go online or call the Customer Service Center at 972-818-6882 (NTTA).

It could be that the dealer received the invoice.

Thanks, Naima. I'll give them a shout.

Sorry about the drink.

We've had a few cars with temp plates from time to time that we forget about it and don't have a tolltag yet, nothing ever came from it. I don't think NTTA has the ability to check a "temp tag" database and just write those ones off.
