Thanks for the other suggestions too. I'm going to look at all of those other cities you guys mentioned. I want to have a good look around online so that when we come out to visit we'll have an idea of where things are.

So why would Frisco not be a good option for us? It looks nice from what I can see but you guys seem to think that other places would suit us better. Just curious since I've never been to any of these places.

Frisco has lots of land available for new construction so resale isn't easy. Frisco is a long commute from Dallas Proper. High schools are underperformers compared to cities with similar income level. I suggest that you look into West Plano which has excellent schools, steady resale , shorter city commute & awesome amenities. It is traditionally expensive but in this market you may even find a decent home in coveted 75093 zip code within your price range.

Lizzylou- I also agree that McKinney is a great place for your family. We live in Stonebridge Ranch which is a great master planned community-offers hike/bike trails, community events-very neighborhood friendly. McKinney is ranked #2 by Money magazine. Moderator cut: no ads allowed
