Cavalli in Irving is great.

:: Cavalli Pizza ::

They were the first VPN certified pizzeria in this area. This place is near my work and always packed for the lunch hour.

I apologize if this is old news but we used to go to a place on lower Greenville called Godfathers. It's been years since we've been there so not sure it's still there. Also Pietro's which my wife said is off Greenville and Richardson road. Great pizza AND pasta too. Family owned and operated. It's been too long since we've been down there. Olive Garden and Dominos can only go so far.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Sal's in Uptown or Roma's downtown.

Menu looks great! Have you ever tried the Philly Cheese Steak?

Are they really New York style pizzas?

I'm almost at the point of getting on a plane to the east coast for some good Italian!

You know, I tried Cavalli's and it really didn't do it for me. I was super excited, because I've been to Italy twice and fondly remember the deliciousness that was their pizza. Was hoping for something similar, but was disappointed. I didn't get anything fancy...just the Margharita Pizza...but I didn't care for it. I'll probably try it again at some point since it is less than 5 min from me, and does have a really nice patio. I did think the raviolis off the tapa menu were really good!

I'm not from NY, but a good friend of mine is, and he went in a skeptic and came out pleased. It was the closest he'd come at the time to New York style pizza.

I have only tried their pizzas. I affectionately named their meat lover's pizza the heart attack pie.

thanks, Blue. I usually have only a bit of the dinner then take it home to have 1-2 times as leftovers. We'll give it a shot.

Still looking for good Philly Cheese Steaks! might have to start a new thread.
