It may be tough finding housing in that area within your budget. You may also want to consider (depending on your circumstances) areas near other Catholic schools including Prince of Peace in Plano and St. Thomas Aquinas in east Dallas.

I live in Midway Hollow. You could easily find a place in your range here. Try to stay east of Lenel though and not real close to NW Hwy.

Two of the ones, I have considered online (but I am sure will be gone before I make the move):

- 9921 Ontario Lane, 75220
- 12508 Cedar Bend Dr, 75244

Turtle Creek can tell you better, but Ontario looks good to me. Cedar Bend is too close to the mess that is LBJ right now, if it was me.

I like the neighborhood that is zoned to Degolyer. Middle class with an excellent elementary, in case you end up having to go that route for a few years.

Thanks for the comment! But school zone is not an issue, especially since for now, I am just renting. If something happens and my oldest does not get into Monica or Rita, we will either try for another Parochial/private, or move to the Park Cities or father north to the 'burbs.

The Ontario address should be good. It's fairly close to Midway where Preston Hollow starts.

Both are great for what you are trying to accomplish. It's a snap to go south from Cedar Bend and Ontario is 200 feet from St. Monica.

You know there is almost nothing for $2k/ mo in the Park Cities, right? Small rental homes start in the $3-4k range. For $2k, you're looking at apartments (of which there are few) or 2/1 and 2/2 duplexes.

You may also extend your search to the townhomes/ duplexes behind Hillcrest High School (east of Hillcrest between Walnut Hill and Royal, east of St Michael's Drive. They are a bit further from the schools you're considering, but nice area and good prices.

Yes, sorry, did not mean to imply that my budget would be 2K if I decided to go the Park Cities route. As that would be 2+ years in the future, I would hope my budget would be more generous, at that time.

For the initial move, hopefully after the first of the year, I want to stick to around 2K, which may be a slight stretch, but seems realistic for the area I am currently looking.

Is it best to use a realtor to locate a rental house? If so, can anyone recommend one? (DM me if needed)
