Wassup! I've recently moved to here to Texas 4 months ago and maaan I really want to meet new friends. I work two jobs and to be honest...my co-workers are okay. But I'm def want to meet new ppl/friends. Find a group of friends to kick it with, call up, hang out and do whatever. What are the best sites? The best places and whatever else to meet friends? Help a girl out! I just turn 26 years old. Pretty young but most think I'm 16 because I look like I'm 16 yrs old. I love to do just about everything and anything.

Help me out! Anyone up here who is new to the Dallas area and looking to meet friends?

Have you tried meetup.com where you can meet people who share similar interests?

Find Meetup groups near you - Meetup

How did you meet people where you moved from? Do you have hobbies or sports you play?

Events And Adventures Club for Singles in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston Texas

You might also look at volunteering with a charitable organization you like. They will appreciate the help, and you will have fun and meet other like-minded people!

Thanx everyone! I really live near Cedar Hill and Duncanville area. I live south of Dallas. But it seem like everyone is in their own little clicks and want to keep it that way. Yeah, trying out for charitable events sounds great. I do love sports but right now I'm not active in any sports. I realize the best way to meet ppl/friends is through work, friends of friends, any activities you're involved in or whatever else. It's hard to meet friends online. It's rare. But it's worth the shot...but you can never be too sure

If you lived closer around the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area that would work, but that's just too far. However, it's a big city, I'm sure you'll have some success.

I can't help but wonder about this. Why would you meet other like-minded people by volunteering? Presumably the people you meet are just going to be people who like volunteering and if the original poster liked volunteering, you wouldn't need to tell her to do that. I find it doubtful that if I was to volunteer, say for Red Cross, I'd meet people who are into dirt biking, anime, and hiking.
