You might have more luck getting an Australian work visa than an American one. If you go to their immigration web site, you can find all the details. If your degree is in engineering, you might really be in luck as they really seem to want those.

Visas, Immigration and Refugees
My degree is in Psychology, Australia is too far I'm afraid and I simply have no desire to move there. I short listed states like Texas and Georgia because I know people that live there, so I could always be in touch with friends / family as I settle into the new environment. Also I've lived in the US before (for 2 years as an international student). But thanks for your input

There is absolutely nothing you can do with an undergrad psychology degree that will secure a visa sponsorship. That's not a technical field, and there are thousands of unemployed Americans who also have psychology degrees.

Look into the hospitality industry. Major Brand hotels will sometimes sponser individuals for a period of time from other contries. I would say the cruise industry also but sadly Dallas is land locked and not a cruise ship in site.

Another possibility is to get a job with an international hotel chain wherever you have to go, in a position keading to management eventually. They will sometimes rotate employees around countries as part of their career development.
