It felt like home to me when I visited to buy my land. I pulled into the subdivision...and I KNEW I was home. That's how I knew where to buy. Gut feel. I haven't built, yet, but I keep in close touch via subscription to the local newspaper, so that I know everything that is going on. I have my defaul screen set to show me the weather, daily. I also took lots and lots of photos when I was there...of my property and the area and places I drove to. I keep them in a folder and when I get "homesick", I pull out those photos and I'm right there. I would suggest that once you figure out where you are going to live, you subscribe to the local newspaper and when you arrive, you will feel like you are already part of the community. Good luck.

I guess not if you can't appreciate what people of other cultures bring to the table.

When did your ancestors move here? Did the original inhabitants of this area appreciate them moving in?

" Other Cultures"....may as well open are lax borders to the millions of illegal aliens that come here ( to Texas) daily. that may qualify as "other cultures" not northeasterners, Ca's or Midwesterners. It's actually fine with most of us "Dallasites", my pool boy, my contractor, my landscaper, the dog walker, our maids, they all live in the suburbubs of Dallas. Some in Frisco, but most in Lewisville and Plano. Welcome to Texas! Or what you think it is.

Nice dodge on the question about your ancestors. You don't have any more claim to be here as the rest of us.
