My first GGG.Father moved to Texas When it was The Republic of Texas.
That makes me a Texan, But that does not make me a good Texan. I make my self a good Texan. If you can do that come on down! If you can't stay there.

Texas has a lot to offer. I originated from the New England area and moved at 18 to Ft. Worth for college. Spent 12 years in Frisco-back before it exploded into suburban Dallas Full time.

It took about 6 months and my first August through October still solid heat; to adjust. My mom and siblings were born and raised near Corsicana so I always felt like Texas was my second home. It was an eye opening experience.

We saw some of the best sun rises and sunsets, incredible tornadoes and hail storms in my life. Big open areas to watch storms in other towns but never come your way. If you life bbq anything, Texas is the place. True briskits made to perfection that is merely corned beef every where else. There is so much diversity, so many things to do, great concerts, it was a great place to live my entire 20-something in. As I get a little older, and married a yank as well, the heat just got to us both. You can call anywhere home, as the previous posters stated, but if your heart is in Texas, that's where your home is too.

I have since returned to New England to stay. Thank you Texas for a great ride, my friends and family are still there, and I hope to visit my 2nd home next year for a family renuion

You'll love it, if you can bear the heat for a long time; it really is a great state.
