Last time I checked CNN was a cable channel that I pay for hence my right to have an opinion is legit. No one is asking her to read ten commandment instead but just to keep in mind that there is a difference between once a year nationally televised program and stand up gig in a Las Vegas Casino. If she cant be versatile than CNN should find some one who can offer funny & intelligent comedy instead of soft porn.

I completely understand your point, but wouldn't that sort of thing be better served (pardon the pun!) in a bar/club or at a NYE event?

Bypass13, what are you talking about? Your right to an opinion is legit? Umm...this is true. I NEVER said that you had no right to your opinion. You do have a right to your opinion but that opinion of yours is completely subjective. You and people who share your opinion, however, do NOT have the right to force your opinions on the rest of us. You said above, that CNN should find someone else. Other people who are up in arms over this have said they will write in demanding that CNN ban Kathy Griffin. NO! CNN should not have to find someone else to replace Kathy just because you don't like her. CNN should not ban Kathy Griffin just because those people write in demanding so. That is why I stated that you and those people have other options. I can't stand Ryan Seacrest and the thought of him being the new Dick Clark so therefore, I DON'T WATCH his NYE show. Problem solved. This bothered you so much that you felt the need to start this thread. You had to, or should, have known that some people were going to disagree with your assessment that Kathy and Anderson's NYE show was offensive. I pay for cable too. Therefore, I should have an option to break away from ABC, FOX, or NBC and watch CNN on NYE. You and the people who agree with you can go ahead and hate CNN's NYE. Whatever it does for you to hate it...have that. No problem. But don't interfere with another person's right to have that ONE show to tune into every NYE.

I appreciate that. Thank you for understanding. Awesome pun!!! However, CNN markets their NYE show as "wild" and "you never know what Kathy is gonna do next". So, I think it is fair for them to have a NYE show that delivers on that. People who think it is too much can tune into the other NYE shows.

not to seem rude, but millions of people pay for the cable channel to remain on air, and it seems that the majority of people tuning in on that night enjoys seeing soft porn on new years eve so your vote is overruled. CNN's sole responsibility is not to cater to you and you alone.

and by the way I didn't watch it, I don't have cable (my decision)

I am left to choose between Griffin, Seacrest and FOX? I am a bit old fashioned so I must be punished but this is some harsh punishment. :-)

By the way I have a suspicion that I may not be the only one complaining but hey democracy rules. If more people demand nude newscasters than we shall get that as well.

I didn't watch it, not until I saw a clip of it after clicking on this thread. You can see how uncomfortable Anderson is with Kathy doing that. He didn't try to play along in any way either. I'd be surprised if he's not trying to get Kathy fired himself.

I also find it hard to believe that some of you are defending her actions by saying that you appreciate being able to tune into a "risque, unprofessional party atmosphere" with your friends.

Really? You're party animals and you're sitting around with friends watching NYE on tv huh? Give me a break. The kind of people that might actually think what Griffin did was funny weren't sitting at home watching tv, they were out at bars doing shots off of other people's various body parts.

I wonder if Anderson was doing things of same sort to Griffin than it would be as popular among our " Couch Potato/Wild Party Animals" or more?
