Will be moving to Dallas for about a year, and I just want a decent apartment within walking distance to the station, and all I need is a studio. My price range is $500-700.

Also, how diverse is the immediate area?

What do you consider "walking distance"?

East side diverse, but becoming less so every day. West side, not diverse at all.

I'd like to be able to get there on foot in less than 15 minutes. Which areas are you referring to specifically when you say "east/west side"?

My apologies, east or west of Central Expressway (US-75). The west side is more walkable, but you will be in an older building. The east side is a longer walk, but you can get a nicer apartment. Both areas are doable for a studio.

Thanks. Any specific complexes you can think of? I've researched about a dozen so far, but nothing had exactly what I was looking for. I might end up having to make a compromise, but I don't want to if it isn't necessary.

I'm not sure what you'd find 'withing walking distance' of CityPlace but if you're headed to the DART rail line then you can get a one day pass, or monthly, or single ticket bus ride. Some buses in the area headed directly to CityPlace for on/off load. There is an escalator that heads down to the rail. I have frequently used the Bus #36 from Oak Lawn to the City Place station, coming and going.

The rail stop at CityPlace works on both sides of US75. Buses headed OUT of downtown will stop at the CP entrance on the east side of US75. Buses headed TO downtown will stop on the west side of US75. Escalators meet underground in the middle.

All you've told us is the size, price, and location you are looking for. All 3 can be found. Visit the neighborhood and call some of the numbers advertizing vacancies. Look on real estate websites.

I've contacted several places, and either the prices have been too high or they've been located too far away. I know you've said that I should be able to find studios within my price range, but I haven't found anything. The affordable options I've come across have been low income housing, and that's not what I need.
