What are the pre-k options for the areas of Preston Hollow, North Dallas and Northwest Dallas?

I am leaning toward St Rita or St Monica for K+. However, Rita does not have pre-K, and Monica does not offer childcare after 3 pm. What are the other pre-k options? I am getting worried about timing/applications, also.

Where do St Rita students go to pre-k?

I have not, yet, moved to Dallas, but should I go ahead and get on waiting lists for this fall's pre-k class/s?

Also, I am thinking of sending my younger child to Preston Hollow CDC/Methodist. Any experiences or thoughts on it? I am open to other options, also.

Thank you in advance!

When my daughter was Pre-K, many years ago, lots of the St Rita and St Monica parents sent their children to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Pre-school. Awesome place. I understand that Temple Emmanuel runs a great pre-K (you don't have to be Jewish). Yes, I would start those calls immediately.

Many St. Rita students go to Schreiber for preschool. It is just up the street from St. Rita. Schreiber Methodist Preschool Dallas, Texas Another popular option is The Creative School. Creative School at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church

Do you need care during Christmas break, spring break and other school breaks? If so, you might be best served with a traditional day care center rather than a preschool since preschools don't offer care during school holidays. If you are able to take time off from work during school holidays, Grace Academy might be an option. I seem to recall that they provide aftercare for preschool age students.

Needing 8-5 care in a traditional preschool program in N Dallas is rare. Alot of people use a nanny to complete the timegap. Preston Hollow UMC has a well respected CDC. Try that.

I was trying to remember that one today when I was responding. There are a few more but I'm drawing a blank since it's been so long since I was looking for my child. Northaven Co-op? But that one requires time from the parents.

My wife researched the heck out of preschools / daycares before we moved to Dallas. We attend St. Rita and would send our little one there for school if we were staying in this neighborhood. There are care options that will meet most any budget out there. We chose Primrose of Prestonwood. We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and highly recommend it. The teachers and office staff are super friendly and caring. We feel that our little one has blossomed while there (>1yr). Primrose is approx $15K/yr, and I think the options, other posters recommended are similar priced. Primrose is 6:30a - 6:30p.

We'll try to get our little on into St. Thomas Aquinas preschool now that we're moving neighborhoods. Our alternative is to continue with Primrose if that's not possible. Maybe someone has a recommendation for me in the Lakewood area for pre-k and trying to enter mid-year.
