Hi all. Came here hoping to find some help.

I am a 24 year old male currently renting a room in my buddy's parents house. The parents are retired and have moved away. So it's just me and my friend. I am wanting to move to an apartment sometime in March to May. I want to experience having a place of my own.

I work for a city PD in the N Dallas area as a 911 dispatcher while I train and get ready for their FD test. I just started this job this month. I am looking for a nicer apartment complex north of 635 but south of McKinney. Here are my ideal features for an apartment:

1 bedroom/1 bath
Attached garage (Prefer the style where the apartment is directly above the garage)
Verizon FiOS equipped (TWC would be a distant second choice)
Safer area for when my girlfriend comes over
Not too far from Murphy so she doesn't have a far drive.
$700-$800/month for rent

I have found only one complex I liked so far which is La Costa in Plano. I read up on Amli on Frankford but soon discovered it has been taken over by a new, horrible management company.

If anybody has any good intel on an apartment it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sorry to bump, but wanting to find my options. May is not too far away.

Consider using an apartment finder service. They're usually free.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Most us here are pretty knowledgable about home buying, but we don't have a clue on apartment complexes.
