But I find most homes are maintained well and the people are very friendly. If you mean ghetto as in a crime-ridden area where you wouldn't feel safe walking from your car to the store, then Plano is FAR from that. I have never felt that way in any part of Plano.
Agreed; some parts of east Plano are majority-Hispanic immigrant and blue collar, but that hardly makes it a ghetto. It's not unsafe at all.

Santa Ana, CA is not ghetto either, it's just majority-Hispanic.

to the OP- one word of advise don't come here from the OC and compare OC to Frisco...Plano or Texas. If you do that then you might as well stay where you are at. Life is very different here then from the OC. North Texas has a lot to offer for an open minded uncompareable new resident. Wish you luck.

You obviously have never been to Santa Ana, CA. It is one of the most crime-ridden areas of Orange County, and CA as a whole.

Maybe for Orange County, but no it is not for CA as a whole nor for the rest of the US:

Crime stats here: Basic stat gives Santa Ana a 38, Huntington Beach a 34, Anaheim a 29, and SF a 10 on a scale where 100 is the best.

Ive been to Santa Ana many times and I used to work in Garden Grove. I think it unfair to label the whole city as ghetto. There are bad parts of it, but I dont find it any worse than Garland or Mesquite.

Well first it's all chains in Plano so LA is better. Then they blast east Plano as ghetto. And yet, it's actually got some of the coolest mom and pop shops and restaurants. Go figure.

To be honest, we don't have anything in Collin County that can be claimed as our ghetto. We simply hide our inferiority complex by labeling streets with >25% Hispanics and <25% 4000 sq feet homes as ghettos.
