I agree that even starter homes in that area tend to go above $250,000 but as of today, there are 11 houses in 75082 under $225,000. I would act fast.

I would suggest looking in Wylie, Sachse and Rowlett in addition to Richardson. All 3 are nice towns to live in and within easy access to Richardson.

Depending on where their job is, Wylie could be pretty far away. I think properties in 75080 might have better appreciation than homes in Wylie, and Richardson is more centrally located. I'd go with Richardson. I'm biased of course but I don't recommend it unless I think it's a good option.
