1.9 million for a lot in Plano? If I were to spend that kind of money on a property it would be in the Florida Keys and I would have my boat in m back yard.

If job or business that is paying your bills takes you to DFW than you better settle for Plano or similar town in DFW. Not everyone can have their cake and eat it too.

If you are spending 1.9 million on a lot you probably have enough money to do whatever you want and dont have to "clock in" anywhere.

You wish! It takes money to maintain 1.9 million property. You can't just chill after purchase, you have to pay property taxes, insurance, home warranty, maintenance, pool cleaner, landscaper, maid etc etc etc etc. Unless you have that much cash invested somewhere, there is no way to live comfortably without high paying job in paradise. Most people pay 20% down, rest is just loan.

people with that kind of money shouldnt be taking out loans on anything. I guess even the rich want to live beyond their means though.

Vacation is 4 weeks a year and living is the other 48 weeks? Live large at home suits the math
