Moderator cut: orphaned quote

I agree with that, but I'd also say that the majority of the sculptures at North Park are pretty lame (the square colors posted especially) and the architecture of the building is nothing to write home about either. It's just a big square concrete box. I think the Galleria is a better looking building by far.

But the SHOPPING (the meat of the matter, after all) is second to none at North Park, and the reason so many people of means shop there. BTW - I am nowhere NEAR being one of them!

And, the main Nasher museum is nothing to sneeze at! It just kills me that people compare Dallas to NYC or Rome or Paris, and say it's tacky and a backwater. Compare apples to apples, is all I'm saying.

Thanks for all the responses. The last thing I want to do on this trip is shopping in a mall. I don't care how nice the mall is, it's still a mall. I want to to take advantage of not having our kids. Mall shopping will not be on the agenda.

We should probably have really nice weather during your stay here, so I would suggest just walking around. All of the suggestions are good, but there are plenty of places to go for whatever mood you're in. I pass by the Adolphus everyday (LOVE that hotel) and there are a lot of restaurants, shops and visual interest along the way.

Might try also:

The West End
Downtown underground
Cool cattle sculpture by city hall

Have loads of fun...I think you will!!
