While looking at homes in Plano's Prestonwood area, i stumbled upon this community in Carrollton. Area looked beautiful and great location. Any one fimiliar with it and pros and cons of buying in Carrollton. it is a lovely niche of Carrollton but i hear mixed reviews of Carrollton so what's the real story?

Do you care about railroad tracks being a couple of football fields away?

Carrollton has nice and not-so-nice areas just like every city. My parents live in the Homestead, not too far from this community, and it's very nice in there. Very family friendly oriented.

That is a nice subdivision and great location. I've been there and was surprised that its Carrollton, almost feels like a pricy part of West Plano. If you cross Marsh then you are in West Plano and prices go up by 200k or more for similar homes in PISD schools. If I didn't have school age children, I would totally buy in this subdivision.

It's a niche area of Carrollton that most everyone would think is really West Plano. It's also in Denton County. This moderately high-end neighborhood has been slow to fully develop compared to other neighborhoods with like size and pricing. It's a very nice location for all things West Plano...

Schools are the main reason for buying in West Plano and my realtor adviced that resale is better in Plano. Carrollton in this price range can be tricky to sell even with this location.
