I must not have been clear. The door wasn't sticking.....it would not close! It was coming out of the wall. It was 100 degrees in the Texas heat, and my house was not secure or comfortable. You could see LOTS of sunlight coming through the gap where the door was hanging at a 45 degree angle.

My main concern, however, is honesty. I HOPE we can all agree that if you don't deal with honest realtors, honest inspectors and/or honest sellers, our entire country is in trouble. Who CAN you trust, if not the inspector, the seller or the FHA?

You are assuming dishonesty where there may not be any. Let me tell you something, if I as a seller don't know for a fact I have foundation problems, I'm not under any obligation to disclose. If the seller didn't know how in earth is the realtor to know. The inspector that you hired wasn't a specialist in foundation3. And yes, homes are sold as-is. It is the buyers job to due sufficient due diligence to mitigate the risk.

Absent a fraudulent misrepresentation on the sellers part, and you've given no reason to believe there was one, then this is a risk in home buying. Suck it up, get a second and third opinion and hire a guy to fix what needs fixing.

Welcome to home ownership...

They may not be qualified, but they do know when a foundation company visits and works on the house. I guess they just hope that the new owner does not find out about it.

Seriously? You think you have a case against the sellers because the foundation was worked on but they didn't tell you?
