Your budget is going to be rough any place in that area with a good elementary school. There's no way around that. The one bedroom duplex we rented was in Robert E Lee's zone. When we left last July it was rented out on the first day for $1150-$1200/month. I would be shocked if you could find something 2 bed that you could afford to rent in that area of Dallas. Maybe you'll get lucky, but you will have to make a quick decision and it will likely be sketchy.

Sorry to be a harbinger of bad news, but the area is pricey for a reason.

BUMP

So I am relocating to Arlington mid-August. I have decided to stay in Arlington and rent one of UTA's apartment or house. Most of the apartments and houses are in zip codes 76010 and 76013.

I am considering applying to The Lofts at College Park, 500 S. Center St, Arlington TX 76010,

Arbor apartments on Greek Row Center, Meadows Run on Summit Drive and Timber Brook on Kerby Street.

I would like some information on the various neighborhoods and elementary schools that are zoned to the area. I am moving with a 2nd grader and a pre-schooler.

Also how easy is it to get cabs in Arlington? I know public transportation is non-existent or inadequate so I am just wondering bout cabs.

Thanks for your assistance.

Every time you want a cab, you will have to call and have one dispatched. Short answer: very inconvenient.

Thanks ChristieP.

I know how inconvenient that can be. It's been my mode of transportation for over 4 years now. As long as they are available, then that's fine.

I thought I read somewhere there are no cabs. That got me worried.

I just made google search for < taxi arlington, tx > and got results at this link...

Arlington Taxi | Taxi in Arlington, TX - YP.com

I can't vouch for any of them, reliability, or whether or not they still exist.

Good luck

Unfortunately, none of the UTA apartments/houses are zoned to UTA. I would appreciate some information on the neighborhoods I am enquiring about.
