Our realtor sold a house there few years ago and his client adores their little neighborhood so yeah very interested but just can't say if we want backyard backing to the road. I wish it was backing to the creek. That's what keeping me interested in Cypress Point house. Let's see!
Well, the slightly smaller house (3,413 SqFt) two houses away (with a 2012 assessed tax value of $358,361) sold late last year for the same amount as the tax value - $360k.

Midway Road is not all that busy in this area. If you backup to the creek across the street or down Brandon Court along the creek bank, you're more likely to have the [friendly and totally unafraid of you] wildlife those neighbors get on a regular basis - bobcats, coyotes, snakes, lizards, rats, mice, skunks, raccoons, etc.

I grew up with nature so used to it, actually miss it. My realtor said that house across the street was recently sold at 97% of asking and house that you mentioned was only 1.5 story and they were under contract for their new home so sold in rush. Anyways, we haven't toured yet so too early to say if we are going to like it or not.

The house across the street (2513 I think) is very nice and was distined to be bought quickly because it is so desireable. It is larger and much nicer with a 2012 assessed tax value of $527,016. It was listed at $559,000 and I think was bought for around $540,000. So, you can see that this house sold for just a little bit more than the assessed tax value...even though it was very nice and highly desireable.

Good luck with your hunt...

I can't say much about the pros, cons or the price of the house as that's up to you, your husband, your realtor, inspector and appraiser. For what it's worth, both neighborhoods are well loved by their residents and if you ask around Barksdale you'll find plenty of endorsements.
