Hi,
I am 26 and single female, and I am looking to move to the Dallas area from Orlando Florida. Was wondering what are some good areas to look at moving into, I wouldn't mind a place that I could walk to a lot of different things and a place that has lots of outdoor activity close. Would appreciate any help!

What is the approximate location of your work? What is approximate budget? It matters.

I don't have a job out there yet. I would say no more than 1100-1200 a month would be my budget. Would like lower than that but could handle that price.

Here's the problem: you really need to know whee you will be commuting to for work. The DFW area is HUGE, and our commutes can be very lengthy. For example, I would recommend Uptown Dallas based on your wants and budget, but if you will be commuting to McKinney, Frisco, or Fort Worth, that's not going to work.

Find the job, then decide where to live. Until then, stay in an extended stay hotel or something similar.

I'm kind of trying to decide what are would be a good area to work and live. I am a hairstylist and looking for a more upscale salon because that is what I work at now.

Op if you want walkable and other people in your age group cross off the first 3 on that list. Focus on Uptown, but downtown, Oak lawn, the design district, Knox/Henderson, lower Greenville, and east Dallas are all fairly walkable nice urban neighborhoods. Forget any of the suburb recommendations, better salons near Dallas anyway...

Usually young people can't afford to have their hair done in "upscale" salons, and Uptown is mostly younger people. That's why I suggested those suburbs. That's where you will find clients who are willing/able to afford a $100 hairdo.
