Would I be making a mistake building a custom home in Flower Mound to the tune of $900K? Do you think I'm pricing myself out of the community? I really don't want to build if I won't be getting my money back 10 years down the line.
Hmm...900K certainly isn't too high for Flower Mound, but it may be too high for Adams Estates. I don't really know what the upper end is, but I suspect you are close or near the highest and it probably isn't the best to be the most expensive home in a community.

I'd consider looking in the neighborhoods/land off Wichita Trail to see if there is anything over there. It's still convenient to all the things you care about, but the area will be better for your price range. Check out the existing homes there too.

There was also a community called Three Bridges that was a further out, but not too bad. Not sure if it is built out yet. Large lots.
