Hi there-
We are researching the Dallas area for relocation, and are interested in any information regarding neighborhoods. We' re planning to send our kids to Austin private schools, and would like to live in a suburb with half an acre or more of land that has a reasonably diverse community and is an acceptable commute ( 30 min or so??) Are we asking too much? Any ideas? I'd also love a recommendation for a Real Estate agent to show us around. Does anyone know anyone?? Thanks a lot! We're looking forward to our visit!

Don't think you'll have a lot of luck other than looking in the Fairview area. All the homes there are on 1 acre lots or larger and it is a very upscale nice clean area. Everywhere else I know of inside 30 minutes from Dallas will be in the crammed neighbor hoods where the homes are 10-20 feet apart. There are a few exceptions I'm sure if you are looking for the $500k+ range.

I use Jeff Wimpy. He's a great guy and knows the area well.

You can find him at Jeffwimpy.com

Two areas you might want to check out are Sunnyvale and Forney. Both have restricted subdivisions requiring minimum lot size of 1 acre. They are located 15-30 minutes east of downtown Dallas.

Hope this helps,

Dander
