Pretty neighborhood to drive through on your way to the lake - take Lakewood Blvd, Tokalon or Lakeshore between Abrams and Lawther west of White Rock Lake.

How is the Bachman Lake area in terms of safety/seediness with some of the recent nearby redevelopment? It's traditional been a hotbed for prostitution, but hopefully that is changing.

I like the view from the Reunion Tower. I also really like the view of the skyscrapers as you can see from Mountain Creek lake.

The observation deck at Reunion Tower has been closed but it's supposed to open later this year. For now, you have to grab a drink at the bar at the rotating restaurant (go during happy hour and it's not too expensive). And the view is great.

If you are near to airport, founders plaza is good. Fun for kids to observe flights and decent location for photography.

It's a Dallas must- see. Me and my ex used to go there when we'd visit Dallas. I remember i used to get the Buffalo Wings as a snack. They were good and i think only like $12. I had no idea they temporarily closed the observation deck. They did the same thing in San Antonio's Tower of Americas. They closed it down for about 1 1/2 to 2 years for rennovation and re-opened it back up.
