Hi everyone,

I have recently moved to Texas from California to search for new business opportunities. I've owned different businesses for the last 15 years and have experienced a modest amount of success. My experience ranges from retail, over seas importation of new product for U.S., and finally residential property flips.

I'm looking to find a job here in Texas that will allow me to travel around this community to create relationships and learn the micro business environment so that I can choose a small business that would fit my goals. I don't care about pay, in fact, I would easily volunteer for a position like that.

I've always tried to improve any place that I've been, so I'm sure I would benefit any employer for the time that I spend with them.

Another forum suggested that I offer volunteer services to a city Chamber of Commerce which seems an excellent option (if they accept volunteers).

When I first visited DFW, I really liked the conservative, family oriented, and pro business feel I got here. So I liquidated everything and moved my family here. My plan is to learn and understand the area prior to any large investment on a business and home.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Considering the influx of new residents in the DFW, I would think a Bartender would a fairly broad exposure. Licensing is easy and cheap.

And if tips are not good, then you can just think of it as that volunteer work.
