I lived in Europe for years, so yes...I've spent quite a bit of time in London, Paris, and surrounding areas. Aside from industrial estates, they're prettier than DFW.

However, I do agree on one point. I dont think this area is pretty at all. Its pretty bland as far as natural beauty is concerned. Then again, so are most places. Outside the lake Chicago is even less inspiring than DFW. Illinois is pretty much all flat farm land outside of Chicago. Much like DFW, you have to drive a couple of hours to get to places you can actually do stuff.

I love living here, but the natural beauty isnt really the selling point.
That's my point. DFW is ugly. That doesn't mean it's a terrible place to live, but it's not pretty.

Compared to Hawaii or the Pacific Northwest, for example, Dallas looks rather unattractive. Overall DFW is rather flat and plain. But there are a number of lakes (most man made, but it's something), and some areas with hills and a respectable amount of trees. Others have pointed out a few of them.
I moved to Houston from Hawaii half a year ago. I'm from Houston and never spent much time in Dallas but I have been lately... I'm really impressed by the city. I'm pretty sure there are more desireable urban neighborhoods in Dallas than any other city in Texas.

Given the choice between living in Hawaii again and living in Dallas, I'd choose Dallas.

IMO, Dallas is not ugly. It might not be a jaw-dropping gorgeous city, but it has pockets of lovely and pretty areas.

Maybe some should learn to slow down and appreciate the bits of beauty around them.

Enough already, we get it. You don't like Texas or anything to do wth the state. You don't see any Texans trashing Floridians in their own forums the way you are doing in ours. With your attitude, I doubt many Texans are sad that you have opted to stay away from here.

Dallas isn't scenic like cities in Hawaii or Montana but it has pretty places at ground level where you live

Dallas has very few Vistas. But with the smaller scale hilliness and tons of creeks, there are some really beautiful neighborhoods at street level.

New to Dallas. I've always lived in more mountainous areas, where shadows come quickly in the evening. I'm in total LOVE with Dallas!!! The whole "big sky" is new to me and beautiful! Nothing more beautiful than drinks at sunset on the roof of the Nylo. When you drive around Dallas the amount of creeks and ravines is shocking and unexpected.....thinking several areas off Hillcrest. The skyline. Rockwall as you cross Lake Ray Hubbard. The vast expanse of DFW from the airport viewing park with the wind blowing. The view of Dallas from the deck at the Belmont. Preston Hollow. On and on I could go. I personally find Dallas beautiful and refreshing. All in ones perspective I guess.
