Yup! I recently looked into the possibly of moving to Hawaii and the salaries there made it extremely ugly to me.

This is Lakewood Park on Williamson (a tree-covered lane), a creek running into White Rock Lake:

This is a good example of the creeks I grew up with off Yosemite Lane, Carolyncrest/Alexander Lanes and behind Lakewood Elementary.

It's not the Marin Headlands, but not ugly and flat...

OP Dallas hits the ideal mark in beauty for me. There are many hilly and woody areas near my house in W. Plano which I find attractive. It is not tourist pretty, which is a good thing, look at Fla or Ca where tourists flood, I dont want to live in a tourist mecca, it assures crowds and higher cost day to day. I can fly or drive to the mountains when I want to see them and enjoy the cool air in summers. But give me Dallas day to day and I am more than happy. Its a pretty place by my definition... but not too pretty...if you catch my thought

My thoughts as well. I do get homesick for Southern California sometimes and I do miss the mountains, but at the end of the day I was tired of paying for it. I dont find Dallas beautiful, but it suits me nicely.

Life is too short to live somewhere dull, ugly, and/or uninteresting.

Dallas is all of the above.

Life is too short for most of the people living in Boca. Isn't Boca basically God's waiting room? What's the median age there, 90? Dallas may be ugly to you, but it is far from dull, or uninteresting. Life's too short to live in a nursing home

I find life is too short to spend time trolling around on CD putting down places where other people are perfectly happy to be.

Life is too short

to live without a job, in a state begging tourist to come spend money in a sweaty artificial rest home for northeastern retirees.

Pure jealousy on your part.

Thought for the day:
Someone's life might be pretty pathetic if.......they troll forums on other cities to for the attention.
