Stinson Elemantary is an excellent choice in Richardson's part feeding to Plano schools. I cant recall at the moment but there are two on RISD side that locals recommend and love.

Mohawk and Richardson Heights are both exemplary.

The best school is the school at which your actual, specific child will thrive. That may not be some other parent's notion of best and may definitely not be the ratings gurus abstract notion of best. If you have children already, what are their needs? Special? T&G? Fine arts? Athletics? Small class size? Lots of structure? Little structure? If you don't already have children, what's important to you as a parent? What are you looking for in a school (and community, for that matter)? Asking for those factors, rather than the conclusory "best" may get you better quality answers.

Beware, because from reading this board, a lot of people seem to have a lot of their own self worth wrapped up in a school's rating and name. And you can't just drop your child off at the door of a "best" school and expect the work to be done for you. You need to be honest with yourself about where you want to fit in as an involved parent.

All that sounds great but conventional metrics like exemplary rating, parent confidence, children performance, extracurriculars, Duke Explorer, science competition, spelling bee, math completions, etc favor certain schools so you can start your search from there. By the way PISD's star Amy Chao went to Stinson but of course they can only help not creat rising star.
