If you have half million to spend, need an average size house, love to dine out and shop, want best high schools and commute to Bank of America Plaza in Dallas, where would you buy?

I picked Park Cities. I know that the $500,000 won't buy as much house, but the schools, restaurants, shopping, and nearness to work make it more attractive IMHO.

Nearness to work helps when it comes to school conferences or programs; sports; or even evening school activities such as open house or college nights.

500k is not going to buy you an average size house fit for a family of four in the Park cities.

All of these are good except Frisco as you'll have longer commute and schools are not even in the same leauge as others.

I didn't pick Plano or the Park Cities because your $500k won't get you very far in either location.

I think Plano makes most sense and you'll find a decent home in your price range. Park Cites can work as well if you can settle for smaller space. Frisco makes no sense at all.
