Anybody have any thoughts on the subdivision? My wife and I are looking there, as well as in Castle Hills. Budget is 300k-450k and we are looking for a mixture of nice home/great community. My first impression is that Castle Hills is a little heavier on the "community" side...

Also, it seems like Moore Farm rolls right into the Homestead. Are these separate neighborhoods?

If I could find the right home my 1st choice would be Castle Hills. There were much better builders who built in CH and resale should be better due to the amenities, schools, etc.

There was 1 builder who built in Moore Farms whose homes I'd absolutely avoid.

It completely depends on what you're looking for in a community. Yes, Moore Farms and The Homestead are separate communities. My parents live in the Homestead. I prefer the Homestead over Moore Farm just for the look of the community, not having straight, grid streets, and the houses all have a different look.

Moore Farms compared to Castle Hills has no "community" as you pointed out. They have a park and play area, but no amenities... however, I would prefer Moore Farm and actually looked into buying there, mainly because of location and better convenience to go several directions in the Metroplex quicker.

@Rakin... would the builder you're referring to happen to be G. Homes?

Sotherby was there for awhile I believe. Did Shaddock take those lots over?

Yes, I would agree with Rakin. I would go with Castle Hills. I think it is an awesome location. Close to everything and builders are a bit more reputable. Can't go wrong with David Weekley, Darling, or American Legend for that matter. Yards won't be huge, but that comes with the territory.

I wanted to bump up this thread because we're looking at homes in Moore Farm in Carrollton as well as in Castle Hills. There are several very nice homes in the Moore Farm area while we're interested in and prefer over the homes in CH, but there are a couple of CH that we like as well, but just a little bit less. Are the amenities in CH worth it for a slightly more expensive house? Anyone have updated opinions on the Moore Farm area?

Go with CH. There are two new developments going in there in the fall/winter time frame if you do not want to buy a resale.

If this were "New Build Community: Frisco" I bet there'd be a slew of "Everyone loves new drywall", "mediocre schools, go live in Plano..", "Way to prioritize new homes with tiny lots over character and fantastic schools". Sorry just had to troll...

Anyways, another vote for CH.
