Murphy is in the Plano ISD and they have NO PLANS to add another high school. Plano ISD has two levels of high schools, one campus for 9-10 and then three campuses for sr high schoolers, 11-12 grades. Those in Murphy attend Plano East. Still a VERY LARGE high school w/ large graduating classes.

honestly Coppell, Richardson, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Garland, or Irving are generally pretty safe. They are all fairly close to Dallas. you may hear bad stories about an area but in the worst of places in these cities the worst that happens in you hear a distant gunshot every six months or so. My parents stayed in Irving while going to medical school in Dallas, so you might want to consider that. Coppell tends to be a very very safe community. the bets thing you could do is probably go and and check DFW your self. I am going to recommend you the Las Collinas and Valley Ranch areas of Irving. Probably even Coppell. Farmers Branch and Carrollton are nice too though. You should see for your self.

Here's an easier answer try this website and get the real numbers! GreatSchools.net. You cna compare where your children are attending now and where they might be going in the future for grades in math science and reading. Also there is a "Bond issue" coming up in May 2008 about new schools if it passes then there will be new schools built out Murphy way but, it has to pass to get it done. So today we are in limbo for a bit.
