Hmmmm interesting thread! I thought only liquor stores sold liquor. And if the beer and wine aisle at your neighborhood grocer bothers you, well heres an idea.........don't go down that aisle.

If you are a former alcoholic and are trying to avoid alcohol then isnt having the power to walk away part of the program???

Or is this thread just a joke? Seriously I wanna know!!

Its about religious obsesssion with NOT ONLY not drinking yourself but trying to make sure everyone else has your religious beliefs forced on them as well.

I lived in Texas for alot of years and saw the damage these dry counties and cities cause. The dry counties invariably have a higher incidence of alcohol related car accidents because people are going to drink no matter what and they have to drive a long ways to do so.

this may have already been answered but Brookshires does sell beer and wine in many of their stores. Terrell I know has it. The one in Rockwall does not because the whole town in dry.
I agree that the presence of wine and beer in grocery stores will not increase the number of people who drink. It keeps tax dollars in your community and I believe keeps more drunk drivers off the roads. However if someone is already drinking and decides to run out for more, they are going to drive anyway. I'd rather they have a shorter drive and stay off the freeways. I think there is a better chance the local police will catch them driving drunk before they do harm.
