I have to say, Eatzi's is my favorite place to get a sandwich in the metroplex. Unfortunately, there is only one location, and thats in Oaklawn, which is fine when i'm at work, but on weekends it'd be nice to have an equal venue closer to home. Anyone aware of a sandwich shop that can compete with these guys? I've tried Potbelly's, Benny's, and a couple of others but so far nothing comes close.

Jersey Joe's Deli (site), on the northbound tollway access road just north of Beltline, is awesome. Be sure and try the fresh squeezed lemonade.

I used to live right next door to EatZi's. I had an EatZi's bag full of EatZi's bags. Was particularly convenient for Sat/Sunday morning breakfast, after a nite of OakLawn partying.

Lenny's is pretty good. Not sure if it will measure up to Eatzis.

Awesome, I'll check them out. Thanks for the tip and link.

Tried them awhile back. It's ok, but nothing on par with Eatzi's. I'd lump them in with the other franchise places like Quizno's and such.

Yea that's what I thought. But I think they are a step or maybe half step above quiznos, etc. They cut their meat right when you order and put a lot more meat in the sandwiches. I don't recall if Quizno's cuts the meat when ordered, its been awhile since I've been there.

How about BreadWinners? Bread Winners Cafe and Bakery and The Quarter Bar

Or, Cafe-Express? Cafe Express

I haven't been to Eatzi's (hope to get there soon!) but you many never find something comparable. That's what makes these types of places that much more fun/special to go to.

Haven't heard of Bread Winenrs Cafe, I'll have to give them a try. I've eaten at Cafe Express before. Not too bad, better than the franchise places, but not at the same level of Eatzi's.

When you make it to Eatzi's, I highly recommend their Bone Bread. I normally don't care for bread that is a little tough, as the bone bread does have a tough exterior, but it's flavor is unmatched.

Jimmy John's (franchise) makes a very good sandwich, esp. the roast beef. Excellent whole wheat bread.

Get to a Tom Thumb Signature store. Their delis make a great variety of made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches for 4.99. Can't be beat!.

We use to get a good cuban sandwich from the Publix (grocery store) deli. They also carried Boars Head meats.
