I think Pecan Lodge is very good but I haven't had food yet that was worth waiting 2 hours for. And the fact they still only have one cashier when they know people are waiting in line for 2 hours... it's their business and all, but that doesn't make me want to give them repeat business. I'll go back when the hype starts to die down. They really were not all that-that popular until they got written up in Texas Monthly.

Lockhart is pretty good, but I think Pecan Lodge is a bit better.

They've been that busy for over a year. You may be waiting a while. Besides, where are they going to fit another cash register? Patience is a virtue.

I like Pecan Lodge a bit better food wise, too. But Lockhart is really high quality BBQ and the folks there are nice. Plus, full bar and no line. Just throwing options out to help you with your BBQ fix.

I've been to Pecan Lodge twice in the last couple months and never had more than 5 people ahead of me in line. I go around 2 during the week though as a late lunch. I guess I've just been missing the crowds.

People in Nevada used to say the same thing..."I hate all these California transplants"! I am not one of those..I like everyone usually. And people in Texas should be proud of their state for being so great that they attract so many outsiders!

Looks more like a list that Dallas suburbanites hate. I think half the people in Dallas are from CA. Which may be why they hate Californians! (jk)

Yeah, I'm thinking that's right. I mean, does Dallas *have* enough hipsters to hate? I don't think I've ever even seen one.
