Since you did not state which part of Garland you're located in or interested in, it's impossible to recommend any specific park since there are so many of them - some w/a picnic area and/or rec center and/or pool and/or play/sports equipment, etc., while the lake parks even offer things like windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing.

Quote:
Garland has 63 park areas comprising more than 2,800 acres for sports, recreation, and fitness activities. Garland’s parks also include numerous recreation, aquatics, and sports facilities for more organized recreation activities. Garland’s natural areas and trails provide opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of Garland.
See the City of Garland's Parks & Facilities site where you'll find the park list as well as a park & facilities map that will show you their amenities and location.

moved to i guess south west garland.. right off 635 and s garland rd and w kingsley.(not sure what neighborhood would be). i am looking for a family oriented one in better looking area than the one we live in.. the only one i seen so far has been right off centerville and westbrook i believe not far from tom thumb grocery store. so i will be willing to drive to any part of garland for my child to play and with a walking track if possible as well.. just looking for a nice clean park as i dont know the area yet or good vs bad neighborhoods around here.

from there, I'd go South on Garland rd to white rock. Lots of playground areas and a great trail around the lake. There's also a large dog park with lake access for the canines to swim.
No idea about daycare though.

When my kids were growing up, we used to take them to Auduban Park at Oates and O'Banion, east of Northwest Drive. It's large, heavily wooded, with great walking trails and playgrounds. Don't know how safe it is now, but doubt it's any worse than others in the area. It's pretty and there's a wave pool there as well. Not too far from you at all.
