I am looking for recommendations on European style dessert/bakery in Dallas that would be in the same lines as Alon’s in Atlanta; with desserts not overloaded with sugar and looking as a work of art. In Dallas area I have not seen anything that comes close to Alon’s extravaganza yet. Any suggestions?

Just in Oak Lawn there are four places I know that look similar. I've only been to Atlanta once, so Im not familiar with Alon's.

Le Madeline, Bread Winner's, Eatzi's, La Duni, Zaguan

No clue about the place in ATL.
But look at Rush Pattissiere - in Oak Cliff near Zang/Colorado. Near Spiral Diner. Check her website and call to see when she is open. Not regular hours.

I'm new to the area, but I've heard that La Duni is wonderful. Please don't bother with La Madeleine (can't spell). We tried them, and they were very disappointing. I'll be curious to hear about what you find.

Thanks for the suggestions! La Duni and Rush Pattissiere look especially promising.

You won't find anything close to Alon's . La Madeleine is horrible since it has become totally American , few years ago. Rush is ok , but also very sweet and too Americanised for an European pastry store. Unfortunately , Dallas doesn't have a good pastry shop , the only place where I have found something close was actually Central Market during their French week last year , they have kept a few cakes that they sale year round and few cakes at Whole Food.
We don't have either a French , Italian ,Austrian or Polish authentic pastry shop in the area . There is a huge market to take .

Hm... Black Forest Bakery has some good pastries. Many Germans go there.

I haven't found a bakery that convinces me 100%. Central Market and Whole Foods have good pastries and desserts.
