Hi all!

Need some advise on this one. We recently moved to Plano and so far did not have a neeed to sign up for toll tag. We've had a car rental here for a while w/ TT installed. Now our car made it here in 1 piece, but we are mostly traveling locally. Do I have to get a toll tag in order to enter toll roads leading to DFW airport? If I don't have to get TT, what's the best way to get to DFW airport and best place to park there for 2 days/nights?

Thank You.

Park at Remote North. That's the cheapest. Just allow extra time to ride the shuttle to your terminal.

You can always pay cash or use a credit card for parking. Toll Tag is easier but not mandatory!

There are ways around the toll road at DFW. The access roads that run parallel to International Parkway are not tolled. You just have to know how to get on them.

The entry for Remote North comes off before the tolls begin.

I think you should just get a toll tag, why torture yourself having to do a work around?

You can drive any of those routes without a toll tag. I did so for a long time. At the airport, all it means is that you might have to wait in a queue to pay in-person at the tollbooth, instead of zipping right through. (On the other toll roads, all it means is that the NTTA will eventually mail you a bill asking you to pay the toll.)

You don't need to get a Toll Tag for this trip, and a Toll Tag doesn't offer much convenience at the airport itself (there is a major shortage of dedicated Toll Tag lanes at DFW in my opinion; there is currently not a dedicated lane at the South Entry toll plaza).

However, I would still recommend obtaining a Toll Tag. I only get on a toll road a handful of times each year, but it's nice to have for the convenience. Plus, you get the lower toll rates.

If you decide to get the tag make sure you get it from NTTA (Blue sticker with a T on it). The tags from Txtag are not accepted at DFW.

Some major highways (PGBT, NDT, etc) do not accept cash at all so you better be sure before you get on them.
